Wookjin Choi is a Computational Medical Physicist and Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at Thomas Jefferson University. He is passionate about using cutting-edge computing technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
Dr. Chois research focuses on the quantitative analysis of medical image modalities (CT, MRI, and PET radiomics) to enable precision radiation therapy and diagnostics. He has developed and maintained several open-source software for medical image analysis, radiomics, and radiogenomics, as well as several clinical software plugins (for programs such as Varian Eclipse and MIM Assistant) to facilitate standard and automated workflow in the department.
Dr. Chois research has been supported by various agencies, including state and federal agencies, vendors of radiation treatment equipment, and internal grants. He has secured funding from SKCC, Propel foundation, ViewRay, and Varian Medical Systems for projects that have the potential to benefit the field of radiation oncology significantly.
Dr. Choi is a highly skilled and experienced researcher with a proven track record of success. He is a valuable asset to any research team and is sure to make significant contributions to the field of radiation oncology.
